During his high school career, Abdullah recorded 154 tackles, 7 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries on defense while accumulating 1,612 yards rushing with 14 touchdowns and 1,256 yards receiving with 8 touchdowns. As a junior, he rushed for 1,178 yards and 10 touchdowns. Abdullah also completed two passing touchdowns in his final two seasons, including an 84-yard pass as a senior.
