Tariq Thomas is a running back for the Fresno State Bulldogs after spending two seasons at Bucknell. As a freshman in 2024, he appeared in 11 games with nine starts, earning Patriot League Rookie of the Year and All-Patriot League Second Team honors while accumulating 783 rushing yards. Thomas was named a Jerry Rice Award Finalist and received four Patriot League Rookie of the Week awards across a six-week span. In 2025, he played all 12 games and led the team with 602 yards on 131 carries for a 4.6-yard average, adding five receptions for 24 yards and three touchdowns. The Springfield, Massachusetts native attended Springfield Central High School, where he was a two-time All-Western Massachusetts selection and team captain.
