Bio

Sammie Hunter is a defensive back for Fresno State who transferred from Utah. A native of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Hunter attended Chandler High School in Arizona, where he recorded 49 tackles with 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack across his varsity career, along with six passes broken up and one fumble recovery. During his senior season, he posted 20 tackles, 3.0 TFL, 1.0 sack and two PBU. As a junior in 2022, he made 21 stops and broke up four passes. Hunter also contributed on special teams and in track and field. He redshirted during the 2024 season at Utah. In 2025, Hunter appeared in two games as a special teams contributor for the Bulldogs.
