Ray Hester is a safety for Eastern Michigan from Detroit, Michigan, where he attended Chippewa Valley High School. As a senior, he recorded 47 tackles, nine pass breakups, and six interceptions while earning 2023 Detroit Free Press All East First Team honors and MHSFCA All Region First Team recognition. He also competed in basketball and track and field. In his 2024 redshirt year, Hester practiced with the Eagles but did not appear in games. During the 2025 season, he played in all 12 contests and registered two assisted tackles while earning Academic All-MAC honors. Hester, a junior, is a business management major.
