At Freedom High School, he compiled 185 receptions for 3,700 yards and 67 touchdowns across his prep career before transferring to Hayfield Secondary School for his senior season. Preston earned first-team all-state honors as a junior with 60 catches for 1,309 yards and 24 touchdowns.
