The Dayton, Ohio native from Stebbins High School was a consensus three-star prospect rated by national outlets as the state's 19th-best recruit and the nation's 26th-best interior offensive line prospect. A two-time Division II First-Team All-State honoree, Wheelock signed with Cincinnati as an early enrollee and Scott Satterfield's first commitment to the 2024 class, choosing the Bearcats over offers from Duke and Virginia Tech.
