Ian Sanches is a true freshman placekicker for BYU from Cedar Hills, Utah. He prepped at Lone Peak High School, where he earned 2022 6A First Team All-State honors at his position. During his senior season, Sanches connected on four field goals of 50 yards or longer (56, 55, 54, and 50 yards) and received the team's special teams MVP award. He was a three-time Academic All-Region selection and helped the Knights win a state title in 2021. Sanches also competed in soccer and received offers from Utah State, Utah, and Southern Utah before committing to the Cougars.
