Bear Bachmeier, a 6'2" quarterback from Murrieta, California, enrolled at Stanford for spring football practices before joining BYU. At Murrieta Valley High School, he compiled 6,810 passing yards and 59 touchdowns, adding 1,724 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns. A four-star recruit, he earned three First Team All-Big West Upper selections and two all-CIF-SS honors. As a true freshman in 2025, Bachmeier became the second true freshman and 15th different BYU QB to reach 3,000 passing yards, finishing with 3,033 yards, 15 passing touchdowns, and 11 rushing touchdowns across 387 attempts. He won Big 12 Freshman of the Year and led six comeback victories. From Murrieta, CA.
