DJ Lagway is a quarterback from Willis, Texas who was a consensus five-star recruit and the 2023 National Gatorade Player of the Year. He played two seasons at Florida, appearing in 24 games with 19 starts. Over his Florida career, Lagway threw for 4,179 yards with 28 touchdowns and 23 interceptions while completing 62% of his passes, and rushed 122 times for 237 yards and one touchdown. In 2025, his second year as a starter, he completed 213 of 337 attempts for 2,264 yards with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Lagway joined Baylor following the fall 2025 season and is in his third year with the program. He was voted a team captain and participated in Baylor's spring practice and Big 12 Media Day in July.
