Carson Smith is a placekicker and kickoff specialist from Belmont, NC who transfers to Arizona State as a redshirt senior. Smith spent three seasons at East Carolina (2021-23) without appearing in games before joining Austin Peay. In 2024, he converted 13 of 20 field goal attempts and 32 of 33 extra points while averaging 63.6 yards on 56 kickoffs. His 2025 campaign saw him make 14 of 17 field goals and go 53 for 53 on PATs, earning 2025 AFCA FCS First Team All-America honors and UAC Specialist of the Year.
