Dazmin James is a 6'2" wide receiver from Clayton, North Carolina, who transferred to App State as a redshirt junior. A three-star recruit in the 2023 class, he played his senior season at Clayton High School with 43 catches for 601 yards and five touchdowns, along with 27 rushing attempts for 321 yards and four scores. He also competed in track, winning North Carolina Class 4-A state championships in the 100 meters (10.46 seconds) and 200 meters (21.06 seconds). James spent time at Arkansas before attending California, where he did not appear in games during the 2025 season. He earned Liberty Bowl Most Outstanding Player honors in 2024 after recording three receptions for 137 yards, including a 94-yard touchdown against Texas Tech at a speed of 22.1 mph.
